Great Mention of Chiropractic on Justthefactsbaby.com

My wife sent me a great little article about chiropractic care and pregnancy written by Dr. Jennifer Wise, D.C. from Toronto, ONT, Canada. It’s always great to see positive and accurate publicity about the benefits that regular chiropractic care can provide for a healthy pregnancy. Here are some of the key points: * Chiropractic care during pregnancy can help the baby assume her optimal birthing position. * The Webster Technique is a specific chiropractic adjustment that reduces the risk of having a breech baby. * The Webster Technique...

Chiropractic continues to be proven more beneficial and cost effective

Thanks to Dr. Frank at Chiro.org for another great find. A study by two esteemed researchers, including one from Harvard medical school, have determined that chiropractic adjustments are more beneficial and cost effective for neck and back pain, than any other treatments or modalities. Our findings in combination with existing US studies published in peer-reviewed scientific journals suggest that chiropractic care for the treatment of low back and neck pain is likely to achieve equal or better health outcomes at a cost that compares very...

P90X Seattle Chiropractor Challenge: Yoga One on One

Posted by on Apr 15, 2010 in Exercise | 1 comment

So after a grace period due to the East versus West hockey game, I have hit the Seattle Chiropractor challenge hard since Tuesday. Shoulders and Arms – Check Yoga One on One – Check Legs and Back – Check. I felt a little wobbly went I arrived at work today. I pushed myself today, and my legs are like rubber bands at this point. I believe it was a bad decision to do Yoga so late last night, followed by an early morning workout. My clothes have been fitting differently/better, and am so happy I started the process of getting...

Preach it Mike Adams – Health Ranger. After reading a few different headlines and articles today, foretelling of current and future doctor shortages, I was left with the feeling that everyone is missing the point. That’s when Mike Adams came to the rescue, and put a great article together preaching and as a population what we have an excess of. In this care, sick and dis-eased people. Dis-ease. It’s taking me back to chiropractic philosophy class, and the thought of the late, great, Dr. Fred Barge, D.C. pontificating about...

Home Birth Advice For Dads | Queen Anne Seattle Chiropractic

I have to admit I am getting a little nervous about the new baby coming. I play it cool most of the time, and I don’t have any bad experiences from the birth of Gordon. However, I do remember a couple of weeks prior to Gordie’s arrival, my nervous system went into hyper-drive. Difficulty sleeping. Eating poorly. Watching too much television. Gaining 30lbs over 9 months. This time I was determined to make different choices along the way. However, I still gained weight, but started exercising earlier, before the baby has...

Looking for a True American Hero?

Does it feel like we are under a constant barrage of negative media and opinions? Over the past few years it has been difficult to get away from the firestorm, which has led to many turning off their televisions, putting down their newspapers, and just living in the moment. This is a decent way to live, but it ends up ignoring the root cause of our problems, and lets the negativity proliferate. Banks, fraud, health care, you name it, it has been an extremely polarizing year. Well, after seeing an interview conducted by Bill Maher this...

Seattle Street Hockey East Vs. West 2010

Posted by on Apr 11, 2010 in Exercise | 0 comments

Well the first annual Seattle Street Hockey East vs. West game went off without a hitch. It was a hard battled event, but had less intensity than the Canada Vs. USA annual game. Melding the teams this way made the game a tad friendlier, and the best of 5 series ended up a lot closer. With the series tied 2-2, the East blew out the West in the final game 5-0. It was three straight hours of intense hockey, and am glad I was able to play. I did play for the West team, even though I was born in St. John, NB, but I have always considered myself...

P90X Seattle Chiropractor Challenge Update: Fail

Posted by on Apr 10, 2010 in Exercise | 0 comments

I didn’t work out yesterday. I admit it. I don’t think my Seattle Chiropractor Challenge is a failure yet, as I am still getting in great shape. It was so much easier when I had almost no responsibilities in my life. Go figure. I’ve been having ridiculous sinus issues ever since someone took a liberty on me in August, and the ability to breath normally was almost impossible. Combine that with the pressure that had built up, no fun. It was Shoulders and Arms day, which is probably the best workout in P90X. At least for...

Riskier Back Surgeries on the Rise Due to Kickbacks

Riskier Back Surgeries on the Rise Due to Kickbacks

The information seen in this recent article I read on Yahoo really comes as no surprise to this chiropractor. It is common sense that riskier surgeries raise costs of treatment. This is how costs are determined in medicine. The more complicated and riskier the procedure the more it costs. However, the article also reveals some things I knew existed in the pharmaceutical industry, but I really did not think orthopedic surgeons would be on the kickback bandwagon as well. Aggressive marketing of devices used in complex fusions is likely playing...
