I finally found a chance to write a little about our second home birth experience, and even have a few photos to share. We didn't take as many pictures as we did last time, but since they speak 1000 words, everyone should be all set.

My wife sent me a great little article about chiropractic care and pregnancy written by Dr. Jennifer Wise, D.C. from Toronto, ONT, Canada. It's always great to see positive and accurate publicity about the benefits that regular chiropractic care can provide for a healthy pregnancy.

I have to admit I am getting a little nervous about the new baby coming. I play it cool most of the time, and I don't have any bad experiences from the birth of Gordon. However, I do remember a couple of weeks prior to Gordie's arrival, my nervous system went into hyper-drive. Difficulty sleeping. Eating poorly. Watching too much television. Gaining 30lbs over 9 months.

I have been a little surprised at my reluctance when mentioning our homebirth choice, since I do no not have as much interest in defending my point of view as I used to. Realizing that your time is a very limited resource will do that. So I have done my best to collect some information regarding the actual statistics involving the safety and outcome measures of homebirths.
Something that I have not seen much coverage on is the inclusion of a Chiropractor in the expecting family's homebirth team. It is getting much more common to have a midwife, midwife assistance, and doula. Having your family chiropractor on hand is something that cannot always be arranged, but I know most of my colleagues would love the chance to help the mother and child in this process.
