Hangover Star pokes fun at Cat Chiropractic

Zach Galifinakis, star of the movie the Hangover, pokes fun with the idea of a Cat Chiropractor. I resisted at first to find the video funny, but by the end I was having a pretty good laugh at the faux chiropractor.

The beginning of the short video reminded me of some cheesy commercial we would've seen by a do-it-yourselfer who didn't want to pay a professional.

The second part had me howling, as in my second year of practice, my dad walked into a room, and a large, always friendly, dog jumped him from behind a door and put A LOT of pressure onto his hand.

Luckily it didn't break skin, however Buddy wasn't allowed to come back.

I have also adjusted my fair share of animals, but the scariest moment I had was when a patient brought his large Marmaduke sized Great Dane into the office.

As I setup to adjust the owners cervical spine, the dog shot for my hand and almost took it off. Luckily for my cat like reflexes the hand was saved.

Two years later, same owner, same dog. Trying not to be insulting, I didn't bring up the last incident, since who could forget my hand almost being removed courtesy of an animals mouth.

I was about to adjust his wife, put her in the side posture position, and this dog lunged at me with the ferocity of Zeus on a redbull bender.

Since I do not revisit the moment too often in my mind, I have yet to decide if the noise that came out of my mouth was a yell, scream, shriek, or squeal…quite possibly a combination.

I also went into a Heisman trophy type pose as I cowered into the corner of the adjusting room.

Needless to say, the owner has a tight grip on the chain leash, and saved the day.

As I gained my composure I asked him if he remembered the first near-miss hand removal.

"Oh yah, I completely forgot about that!"

It goes to show that certain situations impact all of our lives a little differently.
