Boy, what a terrible yet fantastic years 2009 and 2010 have been. I have been off the radar for much of 2010: No exercise, No sleep, No blog updates, and plenty of excuses.
Here are just a few:
Starting in August of 2009 I was punched in the nose during a hockey skirmish. I attempted to shrug off the stuffed up aftermath, and went ahead with my life.
Within a couple of weeks I was dealing with my first ever sinus infection.
I attempted my P90X challenge in the midst of it, but my body quickly began a decline I couldn’t figure out. By November and December I was feeling terrible. Fatigue, aches, nausea, sinus issues.
In January, I was diagnosed with mononucleosis. I now understood what many of us go through with chronic illness, and it ain’t no fun. I at least understood that I needed rest, and the Epstein-Barr virus would eventually burn itself out providing I took care of myself.
Following a terrible performance at our annual street hockey tournament in Vegas(which I probably shouldn’t have gone to), the wonderful birth of our daughter in April(followed with many sleepless nights), I was having great difficulty feeling better.
Well it’s not been 12 months since the incident, and I have actually felt reasonable for the past week. I have slept well. My sinus feel like I might be breathing normally again.
The though of exercise has even crossed my mind the past couple of days.
By the end of the week I will have re-started some unfinished business. My Seattle Chiropractor P90X Challenge. I am going to end the year right, and have some aspirations to possibly join some of my friends in Crossfit when I achieve a few of the goals.
Last weekend I also put together my own small blog site. I’m excited about it, and will keep you posted when I get it going.
